Setup Youtube Live Stream Integration

Please be aware, it takes 24 hours for Youtube to enable your live streaming capabilities and several days if it requires you to activate AdSense. Please do this well in advance of your event.

These are the requirements before you can integrate Youtube Live with Remo.

Your Youtube brand or personal account must have:

Live streaming is Enabled
Embed lives streams is Enabled

To find out if these are enabled, go here to check your Youtube features that are enabled (must be already logged into the Youtube account you want to stream from)

1. Enable both Live streaming and Embed live streams in the picture above.

2. Enable Youtube Live streaming

If you do not have live streaming enabled follow the instructions on this Youtube support article.
Please note, it sometimes requires 24 hours for the live stream to be enabled for a new account. After you enable live stream, even if it says Enabled, you still need to wait 24 hours for it to work.

3. Activate Youtube live streaming for the first time

You must create a new stream to activate Youtube Live.

3.1 Go to Youtube Studio

3.2 Click on the Go Live button on the top right corner

3.3 Click on New Stream

3.4 Fill in a stream description, Unlist the video and other settings and then Create Stream

3.5 Let the stream window load up, after that you have activated your first live stream. You are now done!

4. Enable Embed live streams

4.1 Connect AdSense.

Once you’ve enabled the above settings, click on the “active AdSense account” link under Paid Content. Here you can connect an existing AdSense account or apply for a new one. Follow the system instructions to go through the process.

Once you’ve applied for an AdSense account, you’ll get a response that accounts are under review and will take up to a week for approval.  However, Google Help has indicated that applications for AdSense from YouTube are usually reviewed within 48 hours. (Some of our users have been approved in just 12 hours.)

Notice that your account may list paid content as “ineligible." You may be ineligible for paid content because your YouTube account has less than 1,000 subscribers.  However, this will not prevent you from linking an AdSense account and embedding videos.  YouTube’s eligibility criteria for paid content can be found right here.

4.2 Configure Monetization

Go to https://www.youtube.com/advanced_settings and click the checkbox shown below to allow advertisements to be displayed with your videos.

4.3 Test it out! Once AdSense and Monetization are enabled, test things out!

5. Integrate Youtube live stream with Remo

Here are the instructions to integrate your Youtube account with Remo, follow the video instructions below:
